Hello Spartan Fans,
I hope all is well with you and yours.
The time has come! The Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA), our club’s governing body, has given the green light to return to play. Orleans Parish, however, will remain in Phase 2. This mandate means only practice at SUNO Field (no games or contact drills). All LCSL or friendly games, will have to be scheduled at opponents’ home fields until Orleans Parish moves into Phase 3.
Although Louisiana is in Phase 3, I want to reassure parents, the coaches and myself will continue to take all necessary precautions during training. Our soccer environment will change in the following ways:
- Bibs (pinnies) may be used – but not shared
- Scrimmages during training can be played (encouraging intercepting passes/no unnecessary contact)
- Opposed scenarios (Defense vs Attack)
- Competitive games may be scheduled outside of Orleans Parish
We will continue to social distance as much as possible and we ask that parents continue to remain in their vehicles until the end of training.
Finally, please make every effort to update your player’s Teamsnap Availability weekly, this is how the coaches and managers plan for the weeks ahead.
Many thanks,
Lea Westlake
