YDP (Academy) Program Description

Gender: Boys and Girls Teams
The New Orleans Spartans FC YDP Academy program provides an appropriate development environment for soccer players ages 8 to 10 years of age. Within an encouraging and supportive atmosphere, players focus on building a strong technical foundation and increasing their love of the game through an understanding of the basics of small-sided football. Such skills will prepare players to play competitive soccer in subsequent years.
Training
The New Orleans Spartans FC YDP Academy program provides instruction and training three times per week from our technical staff of professional coaches. Our home training site is Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park. Because we train on turf, our training sessions are held almost without fail, leaving ample time for technical and team development. Team training for the Fall season begins in mid-August through October and training for the Spring season begins in February through April. Additionally, development opportunities are often available much earlier and throughout the summer, including summer camps. Training is done within a club and family atmosphere, offering all players the opportunity to train with others of an equivalent skill level, while also permitting sufficient time for team development.
Competitions
The focus for the YDP is on training and developing good habits. They will play 1-2 games many weekends, during each of the fall and spring seasons. Our home games are held on the grass pitch on the campus of SUNO.
Registration is open for the Spring 2023 YDP Season! (February – mid-April 2023)
The YDP Coach will host two training sessions per week with single day Jamborees or PSL play dates on selected weekends. The player fee is $225 per player. We have only 20 spots open!

Player fees are $225 for the Spring 2023 season. For the $225 fee, NOSFC provides: Two 1-hour training sessions per week and LSA Recreational registration and entry for two to three 1-day Jamborees. All additional referee fees, coaches’ travel costs and additional tournaments or Jamborees, player’s uniform kits and personal/family travel expenses are not included. Uniform kits are purchased or ordered through 3rd Coast Soccer in Metairie. We estimate uniform kits to be approximately $250.
We require a payment in full of $225 for the Spring YDP season. You can use credit card or bank account for payment in full. If you have problems registering on this site please send an email to info@nosfc.org.
NOTE: The above player registration fee does not include additional Tournaments, Jamborees or Play Dates with other local Academies. Team additional expenses (split evenly among all players):
- Friendly games referee fees @$25 per game
- Tournament/Jamboree entry fees, coach’s per diem, miles and lodging (if team and coach decide to travel for an event).
